It all depends on how much money the sellerhas in the car.
And if its a repo from a lien against somebody and they got a deal at an auction, it can be very little.
I'm guessing that's why I got another $1000 off mine when it was already $3000 below book.
It also depends on if the the salesmanis needing money to eat because he is having a badmonth which generally happens in January which is the same month I got mine last year.
Yeah I am relatively happy with that price. It does have high miles at 70k. However, since Ihave my own fully outfitted garage,I can do the "60k maintnence". That'll take care of a lotof the potential problems. I guess when people say, "waiting is somtimes the best straegy", they are right at times. I wasn't even looking anymore for a car hen this came up. Even better it is onlylike 40min from my house which isn't bad. The oher car I wanted was over 3hrs away. And since it is snowing today, I don't feel much like drivng 3hrs in the snow.
I agree that you can push for alittle more off on this car. These cars, especially now in the winter months don't sell easily. They usually sit and eat up money on the company's floor plan. It's getting near the end of the month and they are going to be eager to make a deal to get rid of it. If they came down to this price already without you hagglin' I am sure there is alittle room there.

Oh and FYI the salesman has nothing to do with the price, he's basically the go between at most dealerships.

That is definitely not true...
If the price is that low where the salesman has to worry about giving up his commission, it is probably conisdered a mini-deal where the salesman gets paid a flat $100. At no dealerhave Iever worked at have we ever considered kicking in our own commission to make a deal lol. This isn't a real estate deal where the salesman is making a couple grand. The average commission on a car is between $100(mini) to probably about $300 or so...

[ol][*]I am thinking about selling the TT. 16,000 including new turbo, tuned, forge hoses, airnex intake and kicker comp system. I love the car but I think I am going to buy a stasis a3.
