new tires?

last night somebody slashed 3 of my tires. and so insurance is going to cover the cost of my tires i was just wondering what tires should i put on there?

my friend said some. 255/35/18 toyo t1r or r1r.
my cousin said get some yokohama advans instead.

not limiting to only these two, what tires should i get?

by the way i have 18x9 wheels all around and my car is the 2004 3.2 quattro.

winter is coming up... maybe some snow tires? hakkas or blizzak would get my vote for winters..

if your someplace that doesnt snow then idk, t1r's wear quickly i believe.. i had something like direnzas which were awesome

hankook k107s. They are an EXACT duplicat of the Michelin pilot sports only much cheaper. Super thick and square sidewall. I haven't noticed any wear after beating on them for 6 months. Incredible tires! I've toyos, and loved them. The only issue was they wear way to fast. I would put the yokohamas in the same boat. If you do get winter tires, look for verdstiens. They have crushed walnut shells in the tread. They walnut gets excellent grip, but doesn't destroy your streets like studded tires. Also the walnut shell wears at about half the rate of metal studs.

Falken Ziex 912's

I got the Nitto Neogen's and like them a lot. They were much less expensive than alternatives, and had great reviews. Discount tire direct gave them to me for a great price.

god damn so many choices.

first of all it NEVER snows here. so no use for winter tires. and i wouldnt think i'd ever need them cuz mines AWD anyways. correct me if i'm wrong.

second... insurance is probably going to make me pay the difference so i want the best of the best. not looking at price.

third... i want to get preferably this tire size: 255/35/18

^ i'd get falken azenis if you're lookin for top perf. street and track.

but best bang for buck imho is Falken Ziex 912's. i know a spot in alhambra that can hook u up. they're calvin's friends (myxyzxo) and they hooked me up.

JusTTin626 10-26-2008 06:16 PM

sounds interesting but i dont think the ziex 912s have 255/35.

I had the t1r's and they are not worth the price even at 1/2 the cost. The grip is ok, and the wear is horrible. Get the Azenis or some BFG KDW if you want some great summer tires.

What size do people run on 19's on here? i live in Seattle WA so all weather is a must!..

Does anyone run a stagger on the rear? if so how does this affect the quattro or tire wear? in the UK i would run 235/35/19's however, having looked at Tirerack their appears to be a distinct lack of options in the all weather department! anyone run any other sizes?
