newbie purchase question

2001 audi tt quatro 180 hp My sister is in love and I think she should buy it BUT it has 53000 miles on it and we are prepared for the timeing belt and water pump replacement. I am quite able to handle this install. Problem. Drivers door doese not shut correctly allowing wind noise at aft upper window just behind the drivers head and ears :( Door is not seating properly and is abviously out of alignment.
Dealer said he will fix it. He will or we will not buy it. CarFax says no wrecks ????? how did this door get that way.???
Question. The CD player just behind the driver seat, when viewed from the passenger side with the cd top (cover) open you can see the inside of the rear left wheel well , the metal wheel well that is. No insulation or anything else. is this proper. I am building a case for a wreck here and want to be sure it is not one. :)
Love the car and cant wait to get involved with it. Might just get one myself Red , with Automatic for the old legs. :)
Thanks and would appreciate any thoughts on the door .

RE: newbie purchase question

The door noise is a common problem. Havent seen a good fix yet. If they will try, thats a positive.

Dont think there is anything wrong where the cd player is

you sure its the door? i had the EXACT same thing. stand slightly behind the door and see if you can look into the car through the small crevice. im pretty sure the door is good. its the window, and all it has to do is be adjusted. happened to me

RE: newbie purchase question

its likely just the window. you can adjust it in 30 minutes.
