Default Porsche 1.8 turbo.

Ok, I was just reading last night in Barns & Noble (I'm a cheap bastard I don't buy) a fellow was using a 1.8T with a "hybrid KKK turbocharger with K16 exhaust housing & K24 compressor houseing running 1.5 bar boost continuous & 2.0 bar overboost on custom manifold, 60mm stainless boost pipes, rallye intercooler, forge 'open' pop-off valve, modified S3 inlet manifold with carbon-look film and 4 bar MAP sensor, standard cylinder head & cams, G60 metal head gasket, Bosch fuel injectors (didn't say the amount of cc), S3 fuel pressure regulator, KR 60mm fuel pump, mappable EMS engine management with potentiometer and Lupo coil pack distributor-less ignition, S2 pistons and connecting rods, factorys crank with RS2 shells, Bastuck 63.5mm stainless exhaust system with 100-cell race cat & 65mm tailpipe, uprated engine mounts, uprated oil pump, factory radiator, Sachs sintered metallic clutch, G60 02A cable-change gearbox, TDI inner drveshafts with VR6 outers."

It's was writen that this is the same turbo found in Porsche's 993 Turbo & he's getting 340hp out of this system. Anyone got a clue if this is even worth the time & the money?

The turbos are a little pricey and no one makes a manifold, dp or sw for the turbo. So all in all, its cheaper to just use a gt28rs to get to the same hp level if not higher and on far less boost. A gt28rs and t3 60trim both will make 340hp with 22-23psi and not 29psi like his kkk hybrid.

So could it be why he went this way is he found or got his turbo just to see if something better worked or for the sake of saying I have a Porsche turbo in the bay. What else does he have that's better than let's say if he's running a gt28rs.

Sorry, I mean what advantage does running 1.5 bar boost continuous & 2.0 bar overboost help? Wouldn't this be a 3.5 bar?

he has a 22psi program (1.5bar) and a 29psi (2bar) program or has it spike 29psi and holds 22psi. Not really sure on the wording. What mag is this? It doesnt sound like its someone in the states.

The best UK mag "Performance VW." Well not really but I read it. Does this help? "It hits two bar just after 3,500rpm & levels out at 1.5 bar." It's really hard to understand the english sometimes.

so it does spike and taper off. Knowing it is a UK mag does really help. Over there they may get KKK turbos cheaper and have manifolds and dp for them. But a gt28rs would kill that setup anyday. The spool will be faster with the gt28rs and make for more power psi for psi. Here in the states it would be just to say that you have a porsche tuebo on your car. Think Dalhback has the set up like he is running.

I'm trying to read into as many different paths I can take with my TT. If that's the Dalhback kit then damn, it's like 13k for 420hp. Plus don't they have the worse manifolds? I think at the moment I'm aiming for maxing out the ko4 & so far I've figure chip (don't know who yet) 42DD Downpipe & a 4 bar. Forgot what else I could do.

Just ask or follow Lucas's path (elitte). He pretty much has everything for the ko4 but w/m.
