Default Problems starting after gas fillup

After I fillup with gas the engine has a hard time starting, any suggestions? It sometimes does it in the morning too. I have to rev it up in order for it to stay started.

If its only after you filled up, it sounds like bad gas. Take some beano and feel better. Sorry wrong gas, if so, run it for a bit and take it to another station and fill it up with a differnt brand of 91/93. Do that a few times to counter the bad gas.

Does it ever almost die at idle? If so, you might need to turn up your idle, bout doubtful.
Is it cold where you're at? Could explain the issues with starting in the morning...
Are you running <91 octane? Mine had problems with 89 octane, threw a CEL...

If it hasn't been occuring over time, cincy's probably right - bad gas. But if it's happened over time with various fill-ups, you'll need to narrow down the problem more in order to troubleshoot it.

This has only happened once, but when I started my car the other day, not at a gas station, my car died right after it started, but it started right up the next try. I could smell gas when it started, it was like it was flooded, but I didn't hit the gas so it shouldn't of been.

the cars have DBW, so you cannot flood them.

How often do you drive it? It could be an electrical problem that's causing your battery to drain, but that's kind of a long shot too...

Not true (the flooding part, not the DBW). Had the same problem almost every morning with the180 in the winter, during the weeks where it was -15°F or colder. First try it would stall, second try it would run, or run poorly, and I'd feather the gas until all the cylinders would pick up. One day that second start didn't start, and I soaked all 4 plugs. Left the car all day while I was at work, and still had the same problem when i got home. Took the plugs out, dried them with a paper towel, and the car started perfectly on the first crank.

Idle adjustment can be set with vag-com. Don't know what block though, these are all things I find when I'm bored, and just scrolling thru every system I can. I should probably start making notes.

I talked to my daughter again about this problem and she says that everytime she fills the tank (she only uses the highest octane fuel) she has to press on the gas peddle in order for it to start. It only does it after the fillup. Thanks for the replies so far.
