Default Radio - Bad Reception

2003 Audi TT Coupe with Bose Concert Sound, but head unit has been replaced with an aftermarket Kenwood deck prior to my purchase.

It has been determined that the deck and antenna adapter has been properly installed. What else could be causing the radio reception issues?

Bad antenna cable that runs from dash to the antenna in the rear window?
Bad antenna amplifier in the rear hatch? ...I read it may have this part.
Bad antenna? Need to replace rear window?

Dealership has ordered a new antenna amplifier (located in rear hatch).

Dealership replaced antenna amplifier / in-line booster...and I'm still having reception issues. If the problems is not the head unit, antenna adapter (connecting deck to cable in dash), or the antenna booster (located in the rear hatch)...what else could it be? ...what are the chances the antenna within the rear window could be bad?

I was able to determine the antenna within the car is connected and working, just not producing a strong enough signal. I'm located in Racine, WI...most radio stations are based in Milwaukee. When driving in the Milwaukee area, I can pick up all stations. As soon as I get back in the Racine area, I have reception issues again.

I was able to rule out an issue with the Kenwood deck/receiver. By hooking it up to a very cheap universal antenna, I was able to get good reception in Racine. The problem is the antenna is too long to hide within the car and I don't want to modify the exterior.

Next step...an antenna booster from Kenwood has been ordered for the deck.
