Default REAL quick high mileage car question

Ok, just throwing this out there. Local 2001 TT for sale. Asking price is like $12,000. But mileage is like 108k. This is A LOT. I now it would need the "60k service"...most likely. But do these cars run into any specific problems at this mielage?

That $ seems high for the miles. Should be $10.5-11k. But my car is at 105k miles... but im rebuilding the motor. There are a few people with 150k+ on here and vortex on there TT's and many more with 1.8t gti/jettas (which share a good amount of parts).

All I can really say is if you are looking for a TT, take the time to decide what you want, ie 180 or 225, quattro or fwd, coupe or convertible, and get pre approved (if need be) so you are cash in hand type of buyer. Then, take your sweet time picking one out. There is almost always a better deal out there, especially if you are willing to travel even a little, my 01 tt (225 roadster was under 10500 and had 83000 miles on it when I picked it up. Poke around this forums classifieds, vwvortex, cars.com, ebay, etc. Decide on what you want and can afford then sift through the crap to get the ebst car you can for the money, dont sweat passing up a mediocre deal. The car will be great even if you have to wait a little to get the right one at the right price. As far as issues, smart folks above nailed them, but check the FAQ at the top of this forum.

Audi builds great motors, they always have... my 1985 audi GT with 161,000 cranked up on the second turn of the key after sitting for 4 years in the previous owner's backyard.

Price is a tad bit high... see if you can talk them down about $1200 or so. Turbo (bearing) may be worn if it was abused, otherwise the car should be ok.

I should note: the turbo could be worn in any car if it was abused... just more miles mean more chances of abuse.
