I'm wanting to replace my stock high beam and fog lamp bulbs with brighter and better matching bulbs. I tried replacing one of the fog lamp bulbs with a PIAA H3 Star White 3800K ($25), but I couldn't tell any real difference in brightness or color between it and the stock bulb. My other choice is the PIAA H3 Xtreme White Plus 4000K ($55)or the PIAA H3 Super Plasma GT-X 5000K ($52). I'm assuming that the Super Plasma will be the closest match to my low beams, but I'm afraid that it will be too "blueish purple looking" and not look good. Andwith the high beams, will I notice any real improvement with the PIAA H7 Xtreme White Plus 4000K ($70) as compared to stock? Any suggestions?

3800k = white 4k = white 6k = whitish/blue8k = blue 10k = purple...

the higher the number the brighter... careful, in the states 8k is max legal limit

RE: Replacement high beam and fog lamp bulbs
So, does anybody know the Kelvin rating for the stock low beams, high beams, and fog lamps? I'd hate to spend that kind of money on light bulbs just to find out that they aren't any better than what I already have installed. And if those 3800K bulbs I tried were the same brightness and color as my stock fog lights, then I'm assuming that the 4000K ones would be slightly whiter and brighter and that the 5000K would be approaching the color and brightness on my low beams, correct?

RE: Replacement high beam and fog lamp bulbs
So does anybody have an idea about which fog lamp bulbs will matchour Xenon's better, the 4000KXtreme White Plusor the 5000K Super Plasma GT-X? Does anybody own either of these bulbs? I'm not about to spend$70 on light bulbs without knowing how they will perform or how they will look! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

RE: Replacement high beam and fog lamp bulbs
So from what I can tell, it looks like the low beams are 4300K, right?So I guess I should go with the 4000K bulbs seeing as how the 5000K bulbs would probably look too blue/purple compared to my low beams.And while I'm at it, I'llalsoget the 4000K bulbs to replace my high beams. Hopefully, this will give me brighter, better performing headlights with a more uniform look.

RE: Replacement high beam and fog lamp bulbs
Don't quote me on this, but... I don't believe the fog lights are Xenons.
Meaning they aren't a gas discharge bulb, don't have to ignite like the regular headlights.
So I'm thinking unless you hookup some sorta xenon harness for the fog lights; they won't match the headlights regardless of what bulb you use.

Like I said before... I'm not 100% sure on this.
