Default REV PROBLEM

Hey guys I am new to the TT world...

I just bought a 2001 225tt today and I am very excited. I do have one question about driving the car. When I accelerate hard and than let off the gas and push in the clutch at the same time, to shift, the engine will still rev up freely. Is this how all of these cars are or is there something that I can do to fix this? thanks for the help.

My TT will do this also, more so at higher RPM's. I guess its normal, but I'll let someone else say for sure.

Could be a sticky throttle? Something to look into... That doesn't sound perfectly stock. Now, if you put the clutch in sooner than youre completely off the gas at high throttle, you'll get an RPM rush, but I'm sure you already know that. Regardless, your car's particular ailment sounds perfectly suited for performance driving. I want a sticky throttle!

The thing is its harder to shift fast when it revs up like that.

Since you just got the car and you might not be totally used to it, it might just be the way you are shifting. Possibly hitting the clutch too soon or not getting off the gas quick enough. I know I did this a few times when I first got my 01 225. I thought it might have been something with the car, turns out it was just me not totally used to the clutch yet.

For performance driving, 'blipping' the throttle can be useful -- (heel-toe brake-shifting is another example). However, I believe you that this is an annoyance... It's a new car and all -- are you sure it's not your technique?
