Default Side Skirt (factory) repair

So I don't know if I should call this the "side skirt" but you know what I mean. The piece that goes from the back fender to underneath the door. Anyway, I scraped this coming up my driveway last night and utterly pissed. I just wasn't paying attention and scraped the planter. Not much of a dent, just one hell of a long, ugly scrape. Would it be possible to replace the entire side skirt with another that came off a black TT? or would the time/effort or cost benefit prove that paying several hundred dollars for repair, the better choice?

Wow. Expensive week with the car so far.

Needs: Window-Motor and hopefully nothing else
Paint-job repair on passenger side skirt
Paying off speeding ticket (94mph in 70.)
Paying off $255 parking ticket

Damn the luck! I don't remember what I've done to have karma come back and kick me in the *** all of a sudden. Maybe I need to make a list like Earl.

Maybe it's just remains from the planter. If that's the case take a clay bar, and some quick detailer to it.

Pictures would help.

It comes off easy enough. If you can score one off another car, that'd be your easiest route. Potential is there to massage the dent out (if there is one), sand and repaint.
