Default Slipping Clutch?

Ok, I noticed it this morning. In 3rd gear at around 3k rpms I punched it and the RPMs went up quick, but the car didn't go so quick. This car is so much different to judge than my TA... N/A rpms not the same as boosted rpms... Think it's the clutch? Maybe a hose collapsing? Not really sure.. The car has around 85K miles on it.. If so, what's this going to run me? And is there anything else I should do if the clutch has to be replaced?

TIA,
Bruce

sounds like a clutch but one way to tell is to rev it up in 3rd gear to about 4500rpm then drop the clutch and if it catches right away i'd say its not your clutch, your right about boosted rpms. forced inducted cars drive way different thean naturally aspirated cars.

I'll do the clutch dump and see. I'm just so used to NA cars. I'm still VERY new to the boost world..

The reason I ask about doing anything else, is for the flywheel or maybe the Haldex(not sure if that has anything to do with anything)...

Ok.. So... Yeah... It's gotta be the clutch... Tooling along in 5th, push the gas a bit for an incline the the rpms go to 5500, but the car didn't really go..

So, now the question is... What clutch to get and from where?

I'll put my "vote" in for the clutch too. First make sure the pedal adjustment is okay, ie. you have some freeplay with the pedal in normal/up position. You may buy some extra time but if you have been experiencing slip but your clutch is already worn and the only solution is replacement.

If you are doing this major job replace clutch plate, pressure plate and thrust bearing too which normally come a kit. You may need to have the flywheel machined to clean up the surface and give the new clutch plate the best bed in.
