The starter went out in my '01 225hp TT the other day, so I got it into a shop where they were prepared to swap it out. But the replacement they got from O'Reilly's (~$150) apparently wasn't the right one, despite that being the only one they showed in their books. They went on a long chase crosslisting numbers on other sites with similar results and eventually had to call Audi, who had to call somewhere else within the company to figure out the correct starter for my car.

They mentioned the main issue with the O'Reilly's one was, I think, the kilowattage(?).

Anyone else had to deal with this? Where can I get a correct starter? I don't really want to spend $380 on an official Audi one...
