Default Subwoofer question.

I've been lurking around for a subwoofer/amp set for the TT. The current bose subwoofer isn't doing it's job in my opinion. I'm wondering if subs in the trunk sound good on our cars, because in my z3 the trunk was seperated from the cabin so sound wouldn't penetrate through. Seems like the trunk is somewhat connected to the cabin of the car. I'm thinking about 10" sub and about 200-300w amp. Before I make a move I just want to know if subs in the trunk sound good or not in the roadsters. If you have any picture setups please post them! or if there are any other alternatives please tell me!

We have subs in the trunk of our cars? o_0?
I thought the sub waslocated underneath the cubbie. behind the cupholders.

So i'm guessing subs in the trunk would work?

If I recall correctly from when I looked at a black roadster the sub is where you thought in the cabin. Why not just get a better set up in the cabin area and spend less in the long run? We put in a new system in my buddy's coupe and ended up putting a sub on one side of the back seat and an "almost sub" on the other side then great mids in the doors with a small set of highs where the tweeters are. You can do a lot if you can just cram it in.

I guess so, I just want some thing simple and cost less. Starting a new project car soon, I don't want to blow all my money on a nice sound system in the TT.

If you search the TT forum for the word "introduction" and find my introduction post, I have a pretty mean audio setup. I have the coupe, but my subs are basically in my trunk facing the rear glass. The setup works well. I don't know if you're looking for anything as extravagent as I have (most people don't want that much extra weight in their cars), but I'm hitting close to 160dB right now. My setup is primarily geared toward sound quality and not loudness or SPL. I always start with head unit and front midrange and highs and work my way back when setting up audio. Subs are the last thing I set up, but I put them in the trunk and they sound great. ^^

haha well... i have 2 10inch kickers in my truck running at 400 watts... its loud... very, sounds nice though, especially because of the -6 [basically no base] to +6 [loud loud loud] you can control them very well... So yea, i like my even though im trying to sell them so i can buy some performace... these came out of my bmw 740iL which is no longer a member of my family.. if you have any interest PM me...
