Default Telson Carbon Fiber Spoiler Cover

I finally got in my spoiler cover and was wondering if anyone has installed this and could give me some tips. I know I should support it with masking tape while it is drying. What type of prep should I do to the spoiler/metal? The Telson only connects to the underside of the spoiler which gets me nervous. I have siliconsealant adhesive but not sure if it is quality enough to withstand high speeds. The sealant I have is here:

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

If I remember, the stock spoiler generates 100lbs of downforce at 80MPH so it is a good bit. I'd just glue it with some heavy duty silicone and then make sure that it can't rip off with any considerable amount of tugging force and you should be good. I'd probly clamp it in place too while drying, and let it sit for overnight to a few days (yeah, few days without TT sucks!) but I remember when I siliconed some piping, the piping reeked of silicone fumes for days then finally went away. I guess the drying process wasn't totally done till then.

Bump.

Do I need to rough up the paint? Is just cleaning it enough for it to adhere? Any board love?

Degreasing it should be enough but for a sure hold scuffing it with some 800 or 1000 grit sandpaper should give it more bite.

Thats the one. It fits flush to the top of the spoiler. The surface area that gets adhered is on the side andunderside.
