Tires? Please help !! going bald
I have a 2000 Audi TT 2wd manual shift with 17 inch rims. My car is in need for tires. I don't want to spend a lot of money on high end performance tires. I do not race!! I found some tires online for size 205/40/17 but I was told these will not fit on my car? Can any of you experts tell me what optional tires sizes I have to choose from? Therefore, I can search for a reasonably priced tires.
I just don't twant the service guys take advantage of a female! Having me spend a lot of money that I don't need to spend on.
Thanks for your help!!!!!!!

go out to ur car right now, and look at the size on the side of the tire. its gonna be like " xxx/xx/yxx
x's are numbers. y's are lettrers.
then go to your local tire shop and say "i need some decently nice tires, not too intense, in this size (hand them the paper where u wrote down the size)"
they'll give u a price, if its too much, say, "thats too much, is there a cheaper tire?"

Need Tires? I just bought some for my TT. If you go to walmart, you can chose from $80.00 to $198.00 per tire. The choice is your. Remember, you get what you pay for.
The right tire for your TT is 225/45/17. There is a wide range in brands and prices.

Dunlop SP Sports are good tires, I had 5000's on my A4.
Using BFG g-force T/A's now, kinda loud, but I really like these tires. Not the cheapest though, $125 a piece.
Also, you can go a bit wider with your tires if you like, I'm running 255/45R17
