TT door removal DIY
So I pulled apart the TT so I could install new speakers this weekend. I put the TT back together but once I got on to AF this morning I realized I should share some knowledge with you guys if you want it.

a DIY is always welcome you might know of some cheats while you did it but hopefully this data will help you do the DIY
Overview
1-
Door subframe
Note[/align]
Before removing, use a fine felt-tip pen to mark the position of the subframe on the door in a suitable place, e.g. on the collar of the bolts and nuts.

Removing:
ā
Remove door trim .
ā
Unplug wires from door subframe and unclip.
ā
Loosen hexagon nuts .
ā
Unscrew hexagon bolts and hexagon nut
ā
Lift out door subframe.

Installing:
l
The front door must be adjusted before installing door subframe.
ā
Insert door subframe into door, align with markings applied before removing and secure loosely.
ā
Adjust door subframe .
2-
Motor for window lifter

Removing:
Note[/align]
The window lifter motor can be installed or removed with the motor and door window in any position.
ā
Remove door trim .
ā
Unscrew Torx bolts and detach motor.
q
Installing:
ā
Tighten bolts to 3Nm+0.5 Nm.
ā
When installing a new motor you have to adapt the force-resistance characteristic .

To activate the automatic open/close function of the window lifters with motor installed and wiring attached:
t
Switch on ignition.
t
Move door window upwards to limit stop and then release switch.
t
Then pull switch in position āwindowclosedā for approx.2seconds.
t
The open/close function has now been activated.

To remove, drill out rivet heads and drive out rivet stems.

After the door subframe has been installed and adjusted, push up adjusting wedge so that support makes contact between door and guide rail .

Push adjusting wedge -3- of support -2- upwards to the limit stop.

When correctly adjusted, adjusting wedge must make contact between door -1- and guide rail -4-.

Actually I wish I had that when I was pulling it apart. The only advice I got was find the torx screw and unscrew it, then lift. I was namely thinking of a door panel speaker install and door panel removal. No problem on killing the poll.

Removing and installing front door trim
1-
Door trim
q
Remove cap -5- .
q
Unscrew bolt -4- (1x).
q
Unclip inner and outer transition pieces.
q
Lift door trim approx. 20 cm out of door shell.
q
Disengage Bowden cable for interior door handle .
q
Unplug connectors .
Pads -3- (7x) for fasteners must be clipped in on installation.

Tightening torque 7.5 Nm

Pull Bowden cable -1- out of guide -2- and disengage.
Note[/align]
On installation, make sure hook -3- is facing upwards.
Unplugging connectors

Unplug connectors at Item no. -2-.
Removing cap
ā
Guide mandrel -2- (Ć max. 2 mm) through hole on underside of switch trim.
ā
Use mandrel -2- to press lug -3- slightly upwards and at the same time turn cap -1- in direction of arrow.

Detach cap -1-.

Removing and installing rear side trim

Side trim

Remove rear seat bench and backrest .

Remove outer seat belt anchorage point .
q
Remove striker pin of rear seat backrest .
q
Starting from top rear, unfasten side trim -1- from clips -2- (8x).
2-
Clips
Removing outer seat belt anchorage point
ā
Open cover of panel -1- at top in direction of arrow.
ā
Unscrew bolt.
ā
Tightening torque 55 Nm
Removing striker pin
ā
Unfasten nut -2-.
ā
Screw out striker pin -1-.
ā
Adjust striker pin on installation.

Luggage compartment side trim -4-

Threaded plate -5-

Removing storage compartment and cover at rear side trim
ā
Remove rear side trim .
ā
Press fasteners at top of side trim and disengage storage compartment at bottom.
ā
Detach storage compartment.
ā
Use flat screwdriver to prise out bolt cap -1- (2x) at top and bottom -arrows-.
ā
Unscrew bolts -1- (2x).
ā
Fully open cover -2- and detach cover outwards.
On installation, make sure spring has sufficient pre-tension.
ā
When fitting, guide shaft -3- with āUā-shaped edge -4- into lug -5- of cover.
