wastegate

Is there any way to utilize a external wastegate on stock manifold with a k03

basically take out the flapper, block it off from the turbine and mount up the Tial at the WG outlet hole side, then a pipe gets placed on the turbine outlet that goes to the downpipe.

Anything can be done with enough skill and money, but this question has me scratching my head. Why do you want to put an external wastegate on a stock K03 in the first place? Your not gonna gain anything by doing so.

welding cast is not the easist thing to do. As already said, not going to gain anything.

Not really trying to gain anything. Im planning to upgrade to a bigger turbo and at the moment my wastegate actuator is broken on my stock K03. Since I have 2 wastegates sitting around i figured why not just do it for free by my self.

Its not going to work.

What year is the car? If you have a 2000 with a ko3 i might have a wastegate for you this weekend. I have a bad ko3 turbo (not on me at the moment) that i could harvest the wastegate and send to you.

That would be awesome I dont need the whole waste gate assembly just the wastegate acuator. I tried testing the acuator and it open at around 5psi and only goes around a 1/4 of the way out. Ive tried putting it under more psi but still wont go past that 1/4. I also have an acuator from a eclipse garret turbo but im not sure if it would work on our application. Yes i do have a 2000 180.
