Default when will the repairs end???

Went to turn the ignition on my TT last night to go home and it does a 360 on me. Anyone else have this happen to them? Does anyone have an idea on how much this will cost, how involved this is and can it be a DIY job? Thanks for the help.

lmao!!!! sorry to hear that man.. i gotta say if that happened to me i would burst oyut laughing and then would histerically beat the steering wheel

but seriously .. i was going through the FAQ that was just posted ... there is a link for a fotki, i think its the 1st fotki link ( i could be wrong) and it has write up on disassembly of the steering wheel and the iginition system and the turn signal/wiper stalks. you may find that usefull, doesnt seem to complicated.

my mazda had a similar problem cuz the ret@rd japos thought it would be a great idea to make the clips for the iginition out of plastic !!! gotta hand it to them... great way to have customers come back for silly repairs and while you at it charge you for somehting totally unrelated

what ever you do, dont take it to the dealer. If you must, go to a lock smith. I had a simular problem when I had a honda. The dealer wanted $450, lock smith did it for $20. The dealer acutally just towes the cars to the lock smith.

Sounds like someone has been working out! Hopefully it's just a small piece that you can replace easily like DurTTy suggested.
In the meantime you may be the only TTer with the 360 mod!

^ relevance? Please stay on topic here.

Send auditech79 or onepoint8tee a pm and they should be able to give you a cost for the parts needed.

okay, so my steering column is taken apart. I got two quotes for the price. I'm checking it out if it's just the ignition switch or the lock column's screwed up too. One shop wanted 240 for the lock column and 130 for the ignition switch. The dealership wanted 105 for the lock column and 130 for the switch. I just wish I packed up my bently book with me when I shipped my car over.

The problem with living in hawaii is parts availability. Hopefully I get her back on the road soon.

well it is YOUR car as in you are the owner so technically if you wanted or needed to use it you could probably hot wire it. I am not sure if its possible on an audi i dont have the slightest clue on how to do it on any vehicle.
