Default Storage for 4 months in Winter

Just purchased an 2011 Ice Silver metallic Audi TT about 3 weeks ago (love it)!

I will be storing it outside (with cover) from Dec 1 to April 1 2016 ( Western Pennsylvania).

I don't plan on removing the battery. I have purchased a thermal battery wrap am wondering should I just remove the negative cable ( will that have any benefit)?

Removing both the positive and negative terminal will have you defeat the anti theft alarm first or the horn will sound but I'm sure the manual will tell me how to shut of the alarm first. On second thought it may not be a good idea if in the unlikely event that the TT would get stolen. It will be parked in a lighted storage facility.

Any help would be appreciated.

I plan on ECU and TCU upgrades next year

Thank you!
