Default 01 Audi A4 B5 1.8T rear passenger side rotor removal help.

I was unable to get the rear passenger rotor off my hub. The rear driver side didn't have that ring, preventing the rotor from coming off, like the passenger side does.

I'm open to any and all suggestions.

It looks like there is a hub centric ring stuck on the outer part of the hub that is preventing the rotor from coming off. Can you get a pry bar between the rotor face and ring? Have you tried hitting it with a wire brush to find the parting line?

No, i haven't. So you're saying i need to hit it with a wire brush or sand paper to find the parting line? So that ring isn't a part of the hub and it pops off?

bshusted is most likely right. That's what it looks like to me (and if you have aftermarket wheels/rims then that's exactly what that is).

All you really need is a BFH. Find a big *** rubber mallet and hit that bitch like it owes you money. It should pop right off.

Exactly. The wire brush was just more to confirm that the parting line existed. I'm certain that it comes off though.

I'll try that but if and when i get that ring off and install the new rotor, do i have to reinstall that ring, back onto the hub?

Check the inside bore of your wheels. Is the ID of the wheel greater than the OD of the wheel hub? If it is, then you will need the hubcentric spacers to center the wheel on the hub.

Ok, i'll check but i had no issue, fitting them on my hub, before i removed them, to change the breaks and the rotors, so i don't see why i need to check the hub and ID space.

The other wheels may have spacers stuck in them rather than on the hub. Without the spacer, the wheel may seem to bolt up fine, but since the wheel is not perfectly centered on the hub, it can cause vibrations, etc.
