Default 1.8t New Motor, No Spark/ Injectors not pulsing

Alight I'm about to light this car on fire and walk away haha,

The car is a 99 1.8t 5sp Quattro 172k

Originally I lost oil pressure in the old motor and threw the towel in on it. I just bought a passat 1.8t and dropped it in. I now can't get spark or get the injectors to spit fuel. I've checked all the plugs a ton of times. Btw the car sat for about a year and half before I got a extra 1k to buy this motor. Everything worked when parked.

I have power to coils, no visible power to injectors with test light, do have plenty of fuel to fuel rail, put in a new icm and cam sensor. The only odd thing that I have noticed is I'm not registering any rpm's when turning over when using the vag

I'm not throwing any codes with my vag, check engine light is on but I'm not pickin anything up.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS THING PLEASE HELP

Start by checking the crank position sensor. No signal = no start.

Crank position sensor? Coolant temp sensor? Hopefully not a bad ECU?
If the injectors aren't opening AND there isn't spark there's gotta be something common. Have you checked things like coolant temp in VAG-COM? It should be a value close to ambient temp. Perhaps there is a measuring block related to the crank position sensor that can be looked at in VAG-COM while cranking.

EDIT: Darn, z28pete beat me to it.

exactly which passat did you take the motor out of to put in the auid? which harness and sensors are you using? sounds like a crank sensor to me. check you connections, especially the crank and cam sensors

How do you test the crank sensor? Will it have 12v going to it that I can see with a test light. I'll check the temp tonight with the vag. And I used all of the old sensors from the Audi. The motor was Out of a 01 passat 5sp. Everything plugged right in. Do ecu's just randomly go out?

this could be an issue. 01 passats have 06a block. your 99 audi has an 058. some sensors are different considering the differences in the engine management units. id love to know how exactly you put it in

the more i think about this the more i realize how you shouldve done more research. the 2001 passat motor is a awm or aug engine code. these will not work, as a whole engine, in your application. things like the secondary air injection arent meant to work on an aeb harness, nor a couple other sensors. if you want help, post in lengthy detail how you acomplished this swap. i really dont think youll get an awm/aug engine to work with an aeb hanress/ecu.

The salvage yard said it was from a 01 I'm just guessing their right. It's exactly the same block and setup that came out of the audi. Everything bolted right up. All the plugs and sensors were the same. It's a 1.8t same block/head/ everything.

I'm using all of my old sensors/ injectors / injector rail and harness

if the engine is out your putting in is out of a 01 passat, and you have a 98 audi, i promise you they are different. biggest/most obvious in waterpump location. does the motor you are putting in have an internal or external water pump? and by all means, post some damn pictures

I'll see if I can get some pics up, the water pump is external and I had to use the one from the original motor, the only thing I noticed different was the fan mount was a tad different. But everything else looked identical. Maybe the salvage yard was wrong about the year? The took my VIN and everything to make sure it would work?

What a pain though, I had to take the whole front clip off. And what's with the 11 or twelve bell housing bolt for a 150hp motor haha? Crazy...
