15 inch VS 18 inch on stock suspension

I am posting this in this forum as well because not all noobies know how to search.

For those wondering, "What will my car look like with 18inch rims on stock non-sport suspension?" I present this info graphic. This is my car on stock 15 inch 205/60-15 VS my car on 18inch 235/40-18. The measurements are from the ground to the fender at the center of the tire.

I hope this will give you some idea of size and lift. Also, here is a great link for tire size calculation: http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I'll be producing a similar info graphic when I put on the H&R Race springs I bought. With both stockers and 18s. To bad I don't have access to 16 and 17 inch rims.

I thought about going with 17s, I dont want to lower my car though, I feel it will just cause problems with ride quality and will put more stress on the drive and suspension components. i want the look and handling of a lowered car, I am just worried it will cause problems down the road. Any advice to clear this up?

Car and Driver or Road and Track tested different sized rims 15"-19" on a stock VW Rabbit and posted the differences an issue or two back. The 17" set-up seemed to be the best overall tire for handling, ride, braking and acceleration. Although I am not sure how they came to those conclusions.

It's a happy medium? Lol 17s are the perfect sport rim.

17" is a pretty good size. Here's my A4 on 17" RS 4 reps once upon a time (stock suspension):

Yup I was pretty set on 17s but ended up going 18's because I found the set I have at a cheaper price and I opted to go for that look.

i feel as though our cars already came with shitty control arms/ tie rod etc.. so those will have to be replaced with better quality replacements anyhow. everything else depends on how you drive ur car and how much u take care of it. my cousin has a SLAMMED integra and he takes good care of it. drives like an idiot slowing down for little bumps and whatnot but never has had a problem directly related to lowering his car. plus a skid plate would be necessary.
