Another central locking issue! I've spent the last few months looking through all the forums and haven't found the same problem, so sorry if it seems obvious to any of you!

(As a 1995 model it has the IR key rather than the RF ones, which is rubbish anyway however you realise it's handy when it stops working ha ha!)

One day the central locking decided not to work any more (by key or remote) - I never heard the pump whirring noise everyone else's problem came from though. Also, the alarm light on the dash doesn't light up and flash any more when locked.

The other day when a mate got in the front passenger side and slammed the door, I noticed the 'alarm armed' light that I hadn't seen for so long would flicker on/off a bit each time the door was slammed, but that hasn't happened since that day...

Worthy of note, a couple of years ago the C/L stopped, I found that pushing the wiring connectors down in the front passenger's footwell would make it work again! That trick doesn't seem to work any more, doh...

Luckily, it stopped working when it was unlocked so I can still open the petrol flap! All the fuses are fine, I never heard the whirring pump noise, I don't understand!

After it not working for so long, with a bit of sunshine (UK so that's rare!), it started working again!! Only for a few days though, now it's stopped again...

What do you think the problem could be?

Moisture inside the vacuum pipes perhaps? Has anyone else ever had this?
