I have a 97 audi a4 and I am trying to figure out a way to replace the black strip on the left and right side of the car above the side skirts.

I have been google searching for a good while with no luck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Open the door all the way, and look down in the very bottom front corner of the door on the inside. You'll see a screw there. Remove that - it anchors the molding (commonly called a "lower"). Remove that screw, then on the outside, push backward on the lower and it'll slide back a few inches off its mounting tabs and will then come off in your hands. Take a look at www.audiworld.com or www.audidiy.com - one of them has a photo-referenced DIY for doing it.
