Damn. Are you sure you're not running a 5.0L V8 in there? I get about 30-31 mpg doing about 80% highway. I'm fwd though, but a quattro shouldn't be getting much less than that. I'm thinking that you're running way to rich.

tire pressure? easy acceleration? keep speeds down on the highway should be getting at least 20-30 mpg

Take your foot off the gas :0

If you do pure city driving, you're not far from what you should be getting. Keep in mind that turbo operation increases fuel economy. If you never give it a chance to use the turbo, your gas mileage is going to suck. I should probably ask if the yellow check engine light is on, though. You might have a billion vacuum leaks just like every other Audi. One other thing you might want to check is the accuracy of the fuel economy computer. fill the car up, reset the trip and drive until ... whenever; just make sure you record how many gallons you put in and how many miles you drove. You know what to do from there.

Yeah, but even if you were to go wot all the time and go 80+ on the highway, you shouldn't be able to get below 20 mpg. There's got to be something wrong besides tire pressure.

By the way, if fuel economy is a concern because you want to make sure the vehicle is running at peak performance, cool. If you're concerned about fuel economy because of the cost of fuel, you're probably driving the wrong car. Fuel will be the least expensive part of owning this car even at 1 mile per gallon. This thing is going to cost you a fortune in repairs and maintenance. A fortune!

Turbo bypass valves fail all the time on these as well. Coolant temperature sensor can cause low fuel economy. Those break all the time also. Make sure you ONLY ONLY ONLY ONLY use premium fuel.

Time for a tune up.

V6 + quattro + city driving = horrible gas mileage as well
