Default 1997 ECU w/APR Stage 1 chip for sale $275

Hi, people;

I couldn't find a section for parts for sale...if there is one, please direct me to it and I apologize for crowding the new threads with this post.

I have a 98 A4 Quattro 1.8T. I bought the ECU and the car started giving me a random misfire code. I've replaced the coils ($150), the spark plugs ($30)and the ICM ($60) trying to overcome the random and multiple misfire, but couldn't...because the ECU is not compatible with my car. I bought something I can't use and I was wondering what can we do about it.

I had the chip and the car checked by an Audi and APR Specialist (Alex Autohaus in SLC, UT). He downloaded the latest software from APR 2010 ($60 for his time) and then diagnose that it doesn't fit my car. The manufacture date on the ECU is 1/97 and it just won't fit my car...it stalls when you floor it.

I paid $275 for the ECU with the chip and I'm willing to negotiate to get as close to that as possible. I can pick up the shipping costs. Numbers on the ECU are: 8D0 907 557 N. This chip with the current software doesn't require a higher octane fuel or any mods to the car. It'll give you about +50 HP.

This is the description from APR:

APR is pleased to present the ultimate ECU Upgrade for the 1.8T engine. After months of long nights and many hours of testing, development and more testing, we are pleased to offer you an ECU recalibration that is second to none. APR's extensive research and development provides you with a powerful ECU Upgrade with no loss of drivability or reliability. Expect huge increases in low-end torque, improved throttle response and a smoother, more powerful top end.

The APR 1.8T ECU Upgrade is an expertly recalibrated engine control strategy that remaps the boost pressure, timing and air fuel ratios to provide smooth and reliable power as if intended by the OEM. APR's ECU Upgrade is developed to work within the OEM and Tier 1 Supplier specifications for engine component stress tolerances and performance specifications. APR's ECU Upgrades are available in octane specific versions to allow you to take full advantage of the fuel quality available in your area. APR's patented EMCS functionality puts the control of the engine's operation at your finger tips and allows for additional features and options to be installed to your OEM ECU.

This listing is for the complete plug and play ecu (not for programming your computer). It is the 91 octane program for a manual transmission quattro.

Please let me know if you're interested. I have pictures I can send you.

thank you,

Fabian

Default ECU w/APR Chip Stage 1 1998

I forgot to mention the guy who sold it to me had it installed on his car 1998 A4 Quattro 1.8T MT...just like mine. Apparently the engine code was different. Again, it was checked by an Audi and APR Specialist and it's in perfect working condition, with the latest 2010 software downloaded, since the last download was from 2001.
