1998 A4 1.8T Quattro, won't start, trouble shoting suggestions
Hello all,
My Audi has been sitting in its parking space for the last couple weeks. It won't start, and I'm running out of ideas.
Details on work already done:
Initial troubleshooting revealed a lack of fuel pressure in the fuel lines, and I thought I had a handle on the problem. I checked the relevant fuses, and replaced both the fuel pump and the fuel pump relay. I now have confirmed fuel pressure. However, the car still will not start.
If I spray starting fluid into the throttle, the car will fire up, and run briefly before the fluid dies out. This leads me to assume that I have spark and compression, so fuel is still not getting to where it needs to be. Is this a reasonable assumption? Any suggestions for next steps? Thank you, any help would be appreciated.
