Hi, My recently departed Dad left me his 1998 Audi. Its in perfect condition and is a very nice car.


The only issue is the car seems to pump out broken up disintegrating foam from the air vent thats situated on the top of the dashboard. We started driving the car in Dec (summer here) with the air con running. Each time we went for a trip in the car the tiny bits of foam muck would cover the front seats and dash. The last few trips i have done in the car i have made sure both the heater / aircon / fan are turned off which stopped this muck from flying around. This muck only comes out of the top vent.

I just went outside to try to determine exactly when this was being blown out and have tried every combination of the airconditioning / heater / fan that I could and now I can't get any muck to blow out of it!

Does anyone know what might have caused this, or why it would stop doing it?

 

Evaporator leaking ?

 

theres foam that seals the plastic vents behind the dash, they just push together so they need foam to seal. this is what your getting, unless you take the dash and vent system apart theres nothing you can do.
