2.8 Magnaflow install

Does anyone have a picture of what they did to install there muffler? I just ordered the 14862 and just wanted to get an idea of what I am going to have to do to make it fit.

well it's about the size of the stock muffler so just lie under the car and look at things and you'll be like oh sheet this cake. or just take it to a shop if you don't have welding tools

Take it to a local Midas shop, or whatever, and have them weld it on for you. Will cost you around $200 or so. You "could" do a resonator delete when you have them install it, but i would advise against it (personally). They'll have to do some funky bending of the pipe to get it in, but they'll get it.

Considering my dad owns a mechanic shop I am definitely not taking it to Midas. I just thought the stock one had the entrance to the muffler through the side not the back and wasn't sure how that was gonna complicate things. I can go to the local muffler shop to have a pipe bent for me for like 30 bux or less and we do have the welding stuff (although I can't say that I trust the welds to stand up to weather). So ordered it from Summit today hopefully it will be here Friday. I just hoped someone had a picture as an example.

I tried a resonator delete and was told by my mechanic and by monroe that it wouldn't pass inspection. Whats the use of living in SW PA if you have follow emissions laws? And the resonator has an angled entrance, not the muffler.

Thanks guess I haven't been under my car enough lol.

So it does come in at an angle I got the muffler today but I am not sure if I can install it myself. Just got back from a muffler shop shop and they said 60-70 bux but over the phone from our shop it was 40-50 not sure I want to work with them after that. I would just like a picture if someone has one.

what? a resonator has nothing to do with emissions. its only to reduce noise. unless you have very strict noise laws in PA you will be able to pass emissions without a resonator. removing your cat would be another story.
