First, I spent around 400 dollars on my brakes including drilled rotors, mintex pads and goodridge brake lines. Anyways. Since I have to change my brake lines I also have to change the fluid. Is there any special fluid I need or will any dot 4 do the trick? I just bought valvoline synthetic dot 4 brake fluid..
My next question is, I plan on redoing the suspension in a month or so and I figure since I have the wheels off I can check the LCA's. I know there is a test to check if they are good or bad but I can't remember how. Anyone know how?

Thats a good way to check for worn tie rods, not control arms. The control arms will start to make noise when it's time to worry about them. Just be sure the ball joint boots arent torn and the bushings are intact. You can wiggle them around with the shocks disconnected to check for play.
Jack up the front end one side at a time. To check the control arms as well as the tie rod ends, grab the wheel at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock, or like mentioned above. With the steering wheel locked grab the wheel and push and pull rapidly like you are trying to turn the wheel right and left. You will be able to see the play in the top control arms through line of sight, but might need some assistance to check the bottoms (someone to shake the wheel while you look under the car at the backside of the wheel at the lower control arm ball joints). More than likely if one or both of the upper control arms are bad, the bottoms will be too. I recommend Purems.com for a complete kit. They stock the Febi 12pc. kit at a great price, and might still be doing the summer discounts. Both my uppers on both side are shot, so I purchased the kit from them. With discount, mine came out to something like $475.00
Check the link below for a youtube video of how to check your control arms. It is for an S4 but it is the same thing.

About the first question. Dot4 will work. I have generally used ATE TYP200, Pentosine or Motul brake fluids. You can get something from the stealership if you really want to. You don't need to get anything like ATE super blue, unless you plan on working your brakes really hard at the track. Hope these help. Good luck.
Borrow the caliper tool from autozone or advance auto parts. Using a hex key is not possible, and trying to rig needle nose pliars or anything else will be frustrating. You can get it done with the caliper tool in seconds.
