2000 a4 turbo

Default 2000 a4 turbo

I have a 2000 a4 turbo with a bad head,i do have another head but it is a vvt head off an 04 ...will this newer head work if I put the non vvt tensioner on it or not...do I have to switch cams or can I run the vvt head the way it is thanks

yup, you are right. just switch the cam chain tensioners and you will be dandy. even though you could just leave the vvt tensioner in it. when its not plugged in, the vvt tensioner acts like a non-vvt one

The intake cam is a different part number so it would be best if you swapped it in, and like redline said you don't actually have to swap the tensioner so just use whichever one is better/newer.
