2001 Audi a4 1.8t Quattro air bag light problems
My girlfriends a4 has its airbag light on. Mechanic says it needs the module. I have seen other forum posts saying it could be a connector under the seat. Would it be possible to fix the connector and reset the light by disconnecting the battery. Basically what I'm asking is that if the problem is the connector would this solve the problem? Also I have the codes to reset my cd player if I need them after unhooking the battery.
Please let me know any and all thought, if this would work or not or if any of you recommend a better solution.
Thanks!

You need a Vagcom scan to see what the issue is. Usually it's the connector. If so, disconnect the battery and follow the DIY I wrote (in the DIY section) to fix it. You will need the Vagcom or an equivalent tool to reset the light. Battery disconnect won't do it.

I saw your DIY before...well done. They scanned it with the vagcom and said its the module. I trust my mechanic but I am pretty sure the light came on one day while moving the seat lol. Recommendations?
Also where can I get a vagcome scanner that would work for her 1.8t and my 01 a6 4.2
How much do they normally run? Are they easy to use?
Sorry if these questions seem stupid im not very knowledgeable in the mechanics of Audi's but have always driven them. 4 strong always looking for number 5 lol

Lol that's awesome Yep, if you have a laptop, go to Ross-Tech: Home and download the free shareware version of Vagcom. It'll do pretty much everything you need. Order an OBD2-to-USB cable on eBay (I use the one that's translucent blue, about $25). You can handle it that way and its a very easy program to use. You can reset/scan codes for the entire car, unlock features such as one-touch unlock, auto locking, remote sunroof/window controls, etc. Easy to use and essential for any Audi owner.
