6k ddm hid in 01 b5 halogen projector

This week i am continuing my upgrade crusade and decided to order a 35w 6k hid kit from ddm tuning, as it seems like many of the people on the forum run that brand. My question is, as far as running in the stock halogen projector, will it cause to much glare for other drivers? i understand that the halogen projectors are not ideal and that retrofitting would be best, but until i can afford to do so would it be alright to run the hid lights in the stock headlight? also anyone have any experience with the 6k ddm hid? i had heard that 6k was the limit as far as getting a nice bright light blue color without attracting cops or pissing off other drivers? anyone had any tickets or been flashed while running 6k hid? I just want to make sure i don't give my wife anymore reasons to yell at me about upgrading my car :p

The DDM ballasts are okay and I have a couple that have lasted 3 years now without incident. The OEM Valeo halogen projectors actually take to the HID light better than many halogen projectors do. The main thing you will be lacking is the width of the beam that a true HID projector has to offer. I'm actually using the original halogen projectors in my fog lights currently.

I have retrofit FX-R projectors and MetalMan has used Mini H1's I believe. Both are Bi-Xenon offering a HID high beam as well.

I think that your color temp choice is poor. There is no reason to run such a high color temp. You are giving yourself less light and making it harder for yourself to see at night. If you're looking to improve your lighting performance, don't run any thing over 5000K. You can, however, run 55W ballasts if you like.

6000k will be just fine. And it will not blind people at all with the stock projectors. I've noticed though when installing HID's in the b5 projectors you seem to always need to adjust the headlight up for some reason.. Very simple to do.. I have mine pointing a little bit higher than the normal cut off line and I've never got flashed by other drivers and the distance is great. :D
