'96 2.8 to 2.7T Build
Got the front done this weekend. All of the control arms and tie rod ends. 8 balljoints i the front though? I've never seen multilink like this before, it's odd. It's equally as a pain in the *** as the 4 link setup for e30's. I just have to do the rear now. I didn't get to the wheel bearings as planned either.
The car itself handles practically brand new now. It feels nice and tight, just the way we like it.

i know there are ppl running 3.0L crank and 2.8 heads with tial 605/770 turbos making well into 500awhp. mostly street builds so very fast spool and usable power. you should check out audizine.com.
the rear end won't make a huge difference unless your bushings are already shot. you need a large rear sway bar like the hotchkiss one with subframe support links

here's something that might help you out with the 3.0 build

Excellent source of info, thank you! This will be helpful when I get the motor crackin.
The suspension is rebuilt all around after working 40 hours a week and going to school. Things might slow down to a trickle but it'll get done.

Sorry about dissapearing. Finals are just about done and work is off my back now. The block is back, all cleaned up, valves are in the heads, still need injectors. I'm thinking about chopping the k03's and grabbing a single GT since spool time won't be such a big issue with the m90. Here it is btw
Hopefully after the time to figure out what I'm gunna do for a crank. The 3.0 crank is 2 bolt mains? I'll have to deal with that it looks like.

You're probably better off just swapping to the 2.7tt because youre going to have to change the wiring harness, engine management and a whole whack of other **** too.. the 30v 2.8 wasnt built for boost any more than the 12v. From my understanding, 295hp (crank?) is about the limit. The 2.7 has all the oil squirters, thicker walls, cooling jackets and other essential things for higher HP applications.
Man, keep this up! I am wanting to do the same with my 2.8l 99. audi. I have got the complete engine and harness super cheap and just wanted to see if anyone has done it. Also was thinking of sleeving my 2.8 and putting on the two turbos and jazz and just build my existing motor so i dont have to swap from DBW to NDBW! but this is sick dude! Keep it up!
called it!!:d
