Thanks for the fast reply!
No codes from the VAG. I changed the fuel filter yesterday, still a no go. Will check injectors and all what you've mentioned today and will let you know how it goes. is it normal for the fuel light to stay on when I turn the key? I have all this lights on the dash on, when I put the keys on: engine, temperature, oil and fuel it can't be the timing cause It turned on monday afternoon, and I also drove it a lil bit. That was the last time it turned on. Could it be the temperature sensor? Thanks for the help! |

I would think the tranny is still low on fluid. While filling it you have to run it thru all the gears, which means it needs to be up on jack stands, or a frame jack with all 4 wheels hanging, so the wheels can actually turn.
The DRn tranny was used from 3/97 to 8/99 on 30V 2.8L cars. It's a 4.111:1 final drive ratio transmission which is the same ratio as a CJP, some of the intermediate gear ratios inside the two transmissions are different though. This is a table of the features of the 2 transmissions. Not all the columns will line up correctly but you should get the idea of whats the same and whats different. I've attached a jpeg of the info as well. ok, So I've checked: spark, ok. Fuel pump, ok. fuel injector rail, ok.
Also a friend sprayed starter fluid and it starts and stalls. He says it's the Fuel Pump that doesn't have enough power to deliver the fuel... But I've checked the fuel valve (don't know how it's called), the one that has a bolt on it that you open to see if fuel is passing by, and It's coming out of there with pressure (sorry about my english, not my first language). The guy that tested with the scanner said that no codes were showing. the fuel pump cost about $280... so I want to be sure it's that before make the investment. Any ideas??? Thanks a lot for the help! |
Change your temperature sensor, its only 15 bucks and has caused more than one car including mine to not start, or run very rough at idle should you be able to get it started, and it leaves no code for the failure. Make sure you get an OEM one not an aftermarket one. If you can get it to start by holding the gas pedal to the floor, or while pumping the gas while cranking then it is most likely your coolant temperature sensor.
