'97 A4 Keyless Entry
I've searched, and gotten mixed answers. Do all '97's come standard with keyless entry? I didn't get a remote when I bought my car used, but I was wondering if I had it. I looked under the rear seat, and foung a metal box, but that is the ABS controller thing I'm pretty sure. Someone said 97's all come factory with keyless entry, is this true? Thanks in advance for replies.
Yes, all '97's came with keyless entry. Unfortunately, many people seem to lose keys and keyless entry transmitters over time, so if you buy a 10 year old car, it might not come with them (I was lucky, my '97 came with all 4 keys and the keyless entry). I'm pretty sure the keyless entry is integrated with the central locking system. This is located in the trunk on the right side below the tail light.
I'm debating whether to order to order a switchblade off ebay or not. I've heard programming is easy, and I'm getting really sick of sticking my key in thedoor everytime. Plus, I've gotta admit, those switchblade keys are pretty badass. I'm kinda stuck here..
I have 2 keyless remotes that I bought for my 97 Cabriolet. They work pefectly, but the unit in my car is bad. The dealer tested the remotes and eveything is fuctional. It is just not worth it to me to pay to have the unit in the car fixed ($600). Anyone have any ideas where I can sell these remotes?
