Default 97 Audi A4 engine switch

My daughter has a Audi A4, 97 with 1.8T, Can I change the 1.8 to the 2.8 without changing trans or wiring harness?

In anycase, keep the 1.8T. Better mileage if still stock. If you are looking for more power, the 1.8 has so many options...2.8 is exceptionally limited.

I agree with cyclosteve, keep the 1.8 and get it chipped if you want a little more power.

+10; if you're just looking for a little more power, your best option is to get a chip. It'll be slightly more powerful than a 2.8 and still get better fuel mileage.
