Hey dude, how did this end up.

I have almost the exact same car with very VERY similar issues. I was told to start from the top and replace the valve cover gaskets as well as the Oil Filter housing. Clean up the motor and then see if you are still getting leakage underneath in a week or so. So I'm curious how it turns out for you, keep me posted

Hey there,

So i just went to another mechanic today, and he claims that its the "breather Valve". I don't know what the **** a Breather Valve is, and I've never even heard of it. But he claims that it is super common. But, he claims that it will still be about 7 hours in labor, and $200 in parts, as he will go in and replace any other smaller leaks in the process. So I have one other appointment tomorrow with another mechanic. So we'll see what they have to say!

I just got pricing back from my dude up in TN that builds the race cars and owns an independent shop. He says labor on the valve gaskets is 4.5 hrs @ 45.00/hr then the gaskets themselves are $33.74 for the set. I'm gonna start here and then replace the oil filter housing and clean it up and see if she still leaks.

that seems a reasonable price and a good way to tackle the problem, the PCV probably costs a few $$ definitely not $200

does anyone know if 7 hours worth of labor sounds reasonable to replace the PCV Valve? He says he would have to remove the Intake, which is timely. any suggestions?
