Talking 97 B5 2.8 Build, modifications w/pictures

So I first gave my car a clean, it has new paint. I took out the emblems in the rear, Also parts came and more to come I'll post frequently. For now, I am waiting for my scholarship award check that I won from an essay. I'm going to use that money to buy a new oem Sach's clutch kit, clutch slave cylinder, and front left and right axles.

b5qttro97,

I think both you and I are in the same boat just recently (3 months ago) picked up a 98 2.8 and I am currently making modifications gradually. I will be curious to see what mods you make since the 2.8's (mine is AWD) are limited in the available upgrades. Let's compare notes as we move through the process.

I am waiting to get my water pump kit installed as well as the valve cover gasket, tire rods, suspension. I purchased the car for the snow and it is serving it's purpose right now so the parts are patiently waiting in my garage.

S4 front uprights/brakes/ whatever else up front
S4 rear brakes/b7 rear rotors 300mm rears!!
S4 Strut bar up front

Started tucking the bay.

jonbonesjones,

I beg to differ. Although mods are limited I enjoy driving my 2.8 quattro. Trust me I have had my fair share of speeding tickets and I would like to have about 400 hp not really practical. I will settle with about 300 if attainable through bolt ons and nitrous. I have done the custom turbo thing and that is a pain in the *** since it requires a lot of maintenance. Supercharger for a B5 A4 would be nice but the xtra horses need not be on all the time plus the $$$ involved to get it there which is why NO2 is the best solution for my needs. Flip a switch and throw in 75 xtra horses. Plus with a chip, a good tune with a port and polish can get me closer to that 300 number.

You'll be lucky that hundred shot of NOS doesn't blow the welds on the intake!

You may want to check out this Newbie Guide: Newbie Guide Version 2 - AudiForums.com

And this turbo build may be of interest if you want to boost your 2.8: Single Turbo on your 2.8L 30v V6? - Page 4

Idk what you guys mean, i think NOS on this engine is a great idea Nos is fake power no matter what way you slice it, yea you be a the car your racing cause you had NOS, but you couldnt beat him like a man. I gave up racing people in the Audi, who cares anymore im not in high school showing up the civics.

Skythe,

Thanks for the info but I think you misread my post. I am not putting a 100 shot in my Audi and I am not interested in a custom turbo or supercharger. But if you come across any interesting threads on a B5 A4 w/2.8 engine feel free to post or forward to my attention.

Oh I know, I was just messing. That single turbo kit or a supercharger are more realistic ways to getting you to 300hp and thought you should be aware.

Supposedly the 2.8 engine can handle 50-75 shot (https://www.audiforums.com/forum/aud...nitrous-78238/), but then again, what is the purpose of it?

NOS would really be used for a brief time during a spirited drive. It won't make your car quicker for daily driving.

The upgrades for a 2.8 are minimal. If you do decide to run NOS, please post up some info and pics as it is rarely done
