A4 not making and beeping noises?
 

So, i got my keyless remote today. (OEM). Its not honking when I lock the doors, it got me thinking my car doesnt make any warning noises, door ajar, seatbelt, nothing?? Is this common? How do I fix this?

i know that the honking when locking the door with the remote can be programmed with vag-com.

i dunno about the rest...does it beep when you leave your lights on and take your key out of ignition as well?

ok...now that you've brought this to my attention. I just noticed that when any of my passenger doors are open, the car will only chime once and thats it. I dont know if it was like this before because i never really paid attention until now. So is this normal? With my drivers side door, it would keep beeping until it is closed. Also, it never shows on my DIS(Drivers Information System)display which doors are open except when i open my trunk.

i've read somewhere(here in AF) that in newer cars with seat-belt alarms, theycould tamper the alarm using vag-com. I wanted to know if its the same principle for B5s with door alarms.

No, it doesnt make any sounds. Lights, seatbelt, door? You would think it would chime at all those. I dunno...
