a4 problems help is appreciated

ive had my audi a4 1.8 for about 2 years so far and im running into a couple problems lately so any input on any of these issues would be greatly appreciated..

1. My car burns oil off like crazy like after 1500 miles there will no oil on the dip stick. The exhaust is white and i do have a testpipe but my buddy has one on his supra and doesnt have any smoke so wondering if thats an issue.
2. My heat this past winter seemed to not work like it would shoot out semi warm air but not 80 degrees like it said and it was always the same and the car never go up to the temp for it to be blowing out less air.
3. My doors do not lock. the alarm sets when i push the lock button but the doors and everything else doesnt lock.
4. Im at about 79,000 miles and i dont believe the previous owner has ever changed the transmission fluid, is that way past due? or whats your input on that

thank you

i could be wrong....but i believe the locking mechanism is controlled by vacuum. perhaps there is a leak in a line or maybe even a fuse that controls it. not too sure.

for the heat, you could try flushing the system a few times to get the heater core cleaned out. i dont know what the setup is on the 1.8...but i know on my 2.8 you have to bleed the system as ur refilling it. i made the mistake of not doing this the first time and it got air locked and my car started overheating.

I dont remember what the recommended intervals are for changing the tranny fluid...but it's a pretty easy job for the peace of mind you'll have knowing it is done. and again....i dont know if the setup is same on the 1.8...but i had to get a special 12-point tamper proof socket to pull the drain plug on the tranny. only like $15 on ebay.

good luck....hope this helped some
