A8/tt brake upgrade

So I figured I could just buy these parts at work and get a good upgrade for pretty cheap. Now I'm a bit confused on what year tt and a8 to search. I think year 2000 would be ok, but im not sure. Also are the brackets, the rear brackets for the TT? I already searched the forum so im not being lazy, but maybe i missed it somewhere. Thanks to anyone in advance, you guys are always really helpful.

The carriers are the front carriers from any MkI TT, except for maybe the later 3.2 models. They can be had from MJM autohaus, ECS tuning, and there's also a for sale thread on Audizine by a guy who got his hands on a bunch and is selling them in pairs. The rotors you want are the 312mm pieces from the D2 A8/MkI TT, also available from ECS tuning

Keith bought rotors for his 01 A8L (same ones needed for the upgrade) on eBay for $110/pair drilled and slotted.

Cool, so what year TT would that be? I live two hours away from sac so a friend and I plan on going down to the dismantlers over there and picking up the brackets along with some other stuff.

So does anyone have this set up? I'm just not exactly sure how this give you more stopping power if it uses the same caliper and pad. My issue is that by doing this, the area the pad touches is the same surface are. So does the extra stopping power come from positioning the caliper further out as to give it more leverage? I just wanna know if it really does make a difference and if its worth it.

cheap upgrade worth it.
better braking comes from the larger rotor
transfers heat better i do believe less fade ?
