Exclamation Ac help please!!

So I FINALLY got my a4 but there were a few little tweaks that need to be made.
I'm not a professional mechanic but I've done some work and know many people who are mechanics (not for audis) and they all have given me some help, but I figure this is the best place to ask.

SOOOOooo...
When I first drove the a4 the ac was super cold and ran great. The guy i got the car from then swapped the turbo because it was failing, but somewhere in that process the ac line got cut and stopped working.

I went to auto zone and got a line repair thing and did exactly what the guy said to (cut wire, strip, put in each end, crimp, and electric tape)
This didn't help at ALL. I can hear something happen when i turn the ac on but it doesn't move any air...

Then again, I could TOTALLY be wrong on what the line is for and in which case I may have fixed something else!?

PLEASE HELP!!!

This is where the line was cut as you can see

This is the top side of the line where i took it out from

This is my repair job (yes i did finish taping it)

And after all this it didn't give me ac

That looks like the line to the AC compressor. Do you hear the compressor engaging when you turn on the AC?

It makes some kind of sound but no fans spin and it doesnt get cold.

Also when i took the line out the check engine light came on, idk if it has something to do with it but it went off after i put it back in so i assume it had to do with it.

when you turn on ac, if the compressor are engaging your RPM should drop a little. the line that was cut are the line that tells the compressor to engage the clutch. if it is not cold, maybe you need more refrigerant. try measuring the psi on the low side and post it up.

So what about the fact that I'm not getting anything out of the fans or anything when I turn it on?

Fuse is good. Went into the audi dealership and talked to the guy and told him what happened. He said that it could be coincidental that when the line got cut, the freon ran out at the same time.
He said that if it was out of freon that it wouldn't turn the fans or anything. I'm gonna try recharging it I guess. Hopefully it works.

I would have to say thats a bit of bullshit. Frion WOULD NOT be turning fans or compressor.

However, the pressure switch along the Frion tubes WOULD cut off the power to the frion. So, I am suggesting you change the mechanic if he says such bullshit.

when it come's to ac do not ever add frion what so ever it will run ur pump dry, what you need to do is get a machine to get out all the old frion and any air than add new frion
