Depends where you live, in Europe (I don't think they ever came to the USA) they had 2.0 NA motors as an option. I can't tell much from the poorly written thread but it's possible one or more of the motor mounts is bad

Never a bad idea to get it checked, but if your talking about driving in say 2nd gear at around 1500rpm then I'm pretty sure it's normal for the engine to vibrate, atleast mine does. Anything under about 2000rpm except in first causes this

If all your mounts are new it shouldn't have any extra vibrations regardless of RPM. This morning I shifted into 5th at 30 km/h (18 mph) to test my new coils, went from 1k to 3k rpm and it was smooth as butter. Bad motor mounts or even the slightest misfire will bring out any vibrations, my money is on the mounts.

Sounds like the OP has a Euro 2001 B6 8E A4 2.0 NA since they didn't offer the 2.0 NA in the B5.
