Default Audi A4 B5 Brights Headlight not working

Hi,
Have a problem, can somebody please assist, the dims and foglights are working fine but when I switch on the brights they don't come on. If you push the leaver towards you the brights come on but when you push it away from you they don't work. Can someone please tell me what could possibly be the problem and how I can fix it?

Thanks, Wardes

Almost certainly the switch (lever).

Thank you. Can I fix it myself or do I need to replace?

I'm sure it can be fixed, but I would just replace it with one from another car (unless you can find a new one cheap).

Yep +1 on the switch
Had the same exact issue. High beams will only turn on when flashing so pull towards you, they don't work if you pull away from you to keep keep them on. It def the switch.

You can DIY the repair (there's a procedure in the DIY forum on how to do it, and I wrote an additional one on how to fix your switch or rebuild it as well). You will have to remove and reinstall the airbag so be sure you're comfortable doing that yourself.

Wardes1984, where do you live? Please go into your user control panel and fill out the location info as well as create a signature with your car's relevant info. It'll save a lot of time and hassle when you ask questions and if people near you see where you live, you may get offers of help as well.
