Control arms? Strut? Strut mount? I think it could be any of these things. Mine just started doing it too. Im not sure if its the 12 inch subwoofer in my trunk or thats coincidental. It started happening shortly after i got the sub.

Rear, Upper, Inner
I have the same problem but know it is the rear-upper, inners that are doing it. When I did my rear wheel bearing, I noticed the rubber had completely seperated from the ring of the bushing and makes a hell of an annoying squeak. FCP has each bushing for around $17. I believe they have to pressed in/out. I used some spray silicone for awhile and it helps temporarily, but eventually they start to squeak again.

Depending on where you live and how much salt they use on the roads, they springs could be so rusty that they have broke and are rubbing on the strut. My A4 has lived in Upstate NY most of its life and had a horrible squeaking when going over large bumps.

It's one of the bushings back there. I have it right now, I even have the bushing...I'll change it some day this winter. Mine is in the lower arm, and you have to take out the E brake cable to get it out. But the busing gets old and separates, then you have rubber rubbing on rubber.
