Auto vs manual
 

So I think I hav finally made my decision and am going to start looking for a 01 a4 2.8 . The only thing I can't decide is what trans to get. I know the auto is significantlly slower than the manual but I'm afraid I'll get tired n annoyed with the manual. Also, if I decide I want to go to DePaul ( college in Chicago) then there is the possibility that I take the car with me and I know manual sucks in the city. ( I'll only take the car with me if I get an off campus living space that has a garage or a small gated parking area) what would you guys do?

I've always loved manual transmissions. I feel like I'm more connected to the car when driving one, they're better on gas mileage, cheaper to buy, and pretty much just all-around cooler than automatics. However, now that I live in DC i really wish i had an auto-stick or some such thing. Driving a 5MT in DC traffic is like being waterboarded :-X

i drive in LA traffic all the time and i love my 5 speed... but thats just me.. no worse traffic in the world than LA traffic... so if i can do it.. u can too haha

yeah yeah well I've probably gotten more girls in that van than you guys have gotten in your little audis ;)

maybe technically INSIDE the audi as ive only had it for a few months... besides, sex in cars is not comfortable... me and my ex did it in her grand cherokee in front of the MP barracks back when i was in the army and it wasnt fun... not enough space to be creative haha

lol ok too off topic and personal. op just get manual or you'll probably regret it
