OFF:
shifter to gear 3 position, slide the lower chrome sleeve at the bottom of the **** down the shifter shaft, pull the shifter release button (what your thumb rest on) on the side out so there is about a 3mm gap showing between the bottom of the relase button and the ****. Pull straight up.

On;
Shifter in "N" position. Pull the shifter release button out again so there is about a 3mm gap between the bottom of the button and the side of the ****., put the **** on the shifter lever with the release button facing the dash then twist the **** so the shifter release button faces the driver, the **** should engage in a vertical groove on the shifter lever. Push the **** on the rest of the way until it engages with the ring groove on the selector lever. Push the release button back into the ****, and pull up the lower chrome ring until it engages on the bottom of the ****.
