OFF:
shifter to gear 3 position, slide the lower chrome sleeve at the bottom of the knob down the shifter shaft, pull the shifter release button (what your thumb rest on) on the side out so there is about a 3mm gap showing between the bottom of the relase button and the knob. Pull straight up.

On;
Shifter in "N" position. Pull the shifter release button out again so there is about a 3mm gap between the bottom of the button and the side of the knob., put the knob on the shifter lever with the release button facing the dash then twist the knob so the shifter release button faces the driver, the knob should engage in a vertical groove on the shifter lever. Push the knob on the rest of the way until it engages with the ring groove on the selector lever. Push the release button back into the knob, and pull up the lower chrome ring until it engages on the bottom of the knob.
