hey guys. so my b5 a4 is my first awd car, so im still learning about awd. whats open diff awd and does my b5 have it?

Welcome to AF. Your A4 is equipped with Audi's Quattro mechanical AWD with the Torsen center differenial. This video does a good job explaining how it works:

Is the Torsten diff open or limited slip?

The Torsen diff is more open, the rear is a viscous diff set up. And is very open.
Still not sure what you mean. As a tosren diff is torque sensing front and rear power and has pre set factory defaults
